The Employee Assistance program (EAP) can be a valuable aid in resolving employees' personal problems before they begin to negatively impact job performance. It's a way to provide professional, confidential help to employees for personal or work-related problems. And it provides valuable assistance to managers who are dealing with problem employees.
YOUR EMPLOYEES ARE YOUR BIGGEST ASSET
Whether your business delivers products or services, your employees are your most valuable resource. Yet how many of your employees are dealing with stress at home or on the job that is impairing their job performance? How many of your managers are stymied when confronted with an employee in crisis?
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is here to help.
SERVICES WE OFFER
Short Term Counseling: EAP offers counseling to the employees and their immediate family. Counseling services include: Family & Marital, Substance Abuse, Stress, Grief, Anxiety, as well as referrals for Legal and Financial Assistance. In the event that our counselors identify a need for long term counseling, we will assist in recommending a counselor or program that is covered under your health care benefits.
Quick Appointment Scheduling: Flexible hours and a variety of office locations allow for convenient, timely service.
Employee Orientation: Orientation meetings and materials help the employees understand what the EAP is, and how they and their family members can benefit from it.
Management Training: Managers are trained to measure job performance in concrete, specific ways. They learn how to identify the troubled employee, and how to most effectively intervene so that the worker utilizes the EAP to help them deal with problems that are impairing their performance at work.
Trainings and Seminars: Offered to employees and managers on a variety of topics, including stress management, communication skills, managing change, and preventing workplace violence. Trainings can be developed to meet your company's specific needs.
How It Works
Referrals to the EAP take place in one of two ways:
Employees: Most referrals come from the employees themselves. Realizing that they need assistance, they call to schedule an appointment. Often the employee will report that they feel their job performance has been affected, but that their manager has not yet noticed. They appreciate the availability of the EAP, which they see as a valuable benefit.
Managers: A manager can recommend that an employee contact the EAP if it appears that a personal problem is negatively impacting their job performance. This demonstrates a positive, caring attitude while communicating expectations of consistent work performance.
Highly experienced, licensed counselors provide the counseling in private, professional offices.
We're Your Partners to Maximize Productivity at Minimum Cost
An employee's personal problems can result in increased absenteeism; higher utilization of healthcare benefits, decreased productivity; and poor relationships with coworkers, supervisors and customers.
Studies have shown that the availability of an EAP has resulted in decreases in absenteeism, and in the utilization of medical and mental health benefits, as well as decreases in workplace accidents and workers' compensation cases. A U.S. Department of Labor study showed that employers generally save from $5 - $15 for every dollar invested in an EAP.
We're proud to provide a program tailored to each employer's specific needs. We'll work closely with you and with your Human Resources department to become knowledgeable about the needs and demands of your specific business. The EAP then becomes a powerful resource and tool for you and your management staff.
Working in partnership with businesses, unions, not-for-profits, schools
and governments.
